they are six weeks old, and I've been feeding them grit in their feed daily for the past couple of weeks. Today, when I switched them to the 10 lb. feeder, I filled the little quart jar chick feeder with grit, and have it freely available to them.
So, last night for dinner I made lentils, cooked in beef broth, with wild rice, carrot shreds, apple chunks, smoked sausage chunks, and some spinach. It wasn't a hit with the familly, so I'm wondering about offering a bit of it to the chicks, but wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything in there that they shouldn't have. (I have given them bits of cornbread, apples and blueberries so far)
