As I wrote earlier today, I have a chick stuck in its shell. I took it out and have removed some of the shell to help it, but it's so stuck on the paper towel. I feel horrible to just let it die but I think I've done everything I can.

Use a little warm water to remove the paper towel. If it has already absored the yolk go ahead and remove it from the remaining shell. It should be fine. Good luck.

I've tried the wet paper towel, the yolk is that stuck on the poor chick. So, just get it out of the shell completely? I just don't want to hurt the poor thing

If it still has it's yolk you need to keep that chick in the shell. Wrap the damp parer towel around the shell, not the chick. Do you have any way to get a pic?

The yolk was gone. He was to the point where he was pooping in the shell. I had to sit for about 30 minutes, but I got him out breaking pieces of shell and then wetting the membrane. I put him back in the incubator, he's peeping up a storm and standing up. He won't be very pretty when he dries, he lost some feathers in the process. He sounds like he'll be ok, he was quite ruthless about getting out. If I left him, it probably would have taken him a few days to die

Will do, my students are creating a website for them.
