my husband made pvc feeders and waterers for our girls. we got all our ideas from this site. search for pvc feeders or homemade feeders and you will get a ton of info

we cut into milk or water jugs and since they are around all the time we throw them out when they get dirty and make a new one

I made something very similar to yours recently. It works like a charm. I even cut a piece of plexiglass and mounted it in the front, so I can see how much feed is inside. (apparently, I'm too lazy to flip the lid box open and look to see how much is left.) I guess the plexiglass is more for "show" than anything.
Mine is about 6" deep, 18" wide, and 24" tall. Inside, at the bottom, I have an angled piece of wood that directs the feed into the trough. There's about a 1" gap that the feed falls through into the trough.
I like your style!!! Very nicely done!!!

For a quick and easy water dispenser you can cut holes in plastic jugs then use an old pie pan or large flower pot tray to set it on. What we do for the pullets growing up. Say it's a gallon Welch's juice bottle; leave cap on, cut hole in bottom for a filling area, drill or cut small holes at the level of water you want in your pan. Fill with water then turn over quick onto the pan and voila. Just like the water cooler at the office.
