Is there certain food that a hen should eat to lay eggs?

I just recently got a buff orpington 3 weeks ago. Is she known to lay eggs on a regular basis, or is a dual or meat breed? I have checked every day hoping to get a egg from her, but she has not yet given me that pleasure. If she is a dual breed, than how often can I hope to get an egg from her?? If she is a meat breed, than will I get a egg from her

Buff orps are a dual purpose breed. They are meaty chickens. But, they are also productive layers. Mine produce about an egg every other day. Make sure she is feed a 16% layer feed with calcium and clean water.
