I have four hens. They must be hens! No crowing, smallish combs and waddles, no pointed hackle feathers, and I get 3-4 eggs a day (from BO hens). There are no other chickens anywhere within miles of here. So I break open a couple eggs that were a bit over a week old today and each had a spot on the yolk with a white dot in the middle. Not exactly the 'bullseye' you see in the instructional pictures, a solid white spot in the center of a larger spot. There is just NO WAY they could be fertile! What is happening here? Do I have a swishy roo?

Our eggs from our two hens (no roosters) look like that too....plus they have this squiggly looking thing, not sure what that is...but i think that's normal...

Thank you! Those looked like the first egg. I had seen those before but obviously didn't pay enough attention because that egg is not fertile. Whew, I thought I was going nuts!

The other link is great too but it's much harder to see the spots in those pictures.
