Shes a Rhode island red. She is 2 years old. I know this is a weird question but she's always kind of thin but her "rump" has been growing and I want to know if thats normal. This is what she looks like.

Can you get a photo of all of her and her rump?

You mention her rump is growing - is that below the vent between her legs, the vent, above the vent?
Does she lay eggs?
If you feel of the area is it hard, pliable/soft but firm or does it feel tight like a balloon or fluid filled?

Is she eating/drinking/active?

I think its the vent between her legs. She does not lay anymore. There was a small hard spot but the rest is soft. She is very active, eating, and drinking. I will check her butt tomorrow when I release her from the coop.

Keep us posted.
If the swelling or lump is below the vent and she doesn't lay eggs anymore, then she may be starting to show some signs of reproductive issues.
For me, if they are active/eating/drinking, etc. I just monitor them daily.

She is recovering from Bumblefoot (she had this last week). She is now showing an increased interest in eating (she never used to eat a lot compared to my other hens). You know when you touch directly under the hen, there is some kind of bone (past their crop, lower). After that bone, that's where it seems to be growing. Let me know if you don't understand what I mean.

After the bone would be her abdomen. Does it feel fluid filled or sort of like a fat pad?
