First time hatching in an incubator. Im in day 5. Everything was great yesterday. But today something is different
Im candling daily as a project. And i am very gentle.
Yesterday i noticed the baby inside the yolk was moving freely in the egg when i turned the egg. Today its not. Ive been turning 3 times daily. And my humidity has stayed around 50 the whole time. Temp 99 to 102 in a homemade incubator.
I noticed the yolk looked alot darker today than yesterday. And something seems to be floating around. Something really dark. But it doesnt look like the yolk. I can still see the heartbeat of the baby. So its alive. But i dont know if somethings going wrong or if its normal for it to be sticking a little on day 5.
Any advide would be great!

First of all, just my opinion, 50% humidity is too high. I'd suggest around 30-35% for the first 17 days of incubation.
Also, I think you have beautiful embryos!
I've never seen any issue with the babies sticking; your embryo has good veining, so I wouldn't have any concern. Maybe someone who has a definite answer can chime in :)

Ive heard of the lower humidity being very good. But i was nervous because i didnt know much about it. I will lower it a little bit in the morning!

Just did this search - hopefully the links may have some info to help you out.

Good luck

Did you mean to post links? Or did you mean something else?

So sorry, I copied a link and then didn't paste it! What a fool I am. I searched "humidity in homemade incubators" - just put that in the search box and thats what i meant.
Apologies, once again
