This is Deidre, this is her second Christmas and she is 1 of my 3 chickens. She's lost a lot of feathers which I've heard they do at winter but I'm concerned because she did not do this last winter and also my other two haven't done it either (this is there first winter) so I'm just wondering if this is normal or is there something wrong?

I agree. She is definitely molting which chickens do the first time around 16-18 months and yearly thereafter. But some chickens may not molt exactly on schedule. Her legs appear very rough looking. Pictures of the legs would definitely help to diagnose scaly leg mite. Leg mites that young are kind of rare. I tend to only see them in an old or sickly chicken who does not dust bathe. Here is an article about treatment of leg mites:

Yes she did have scaly leg mites but has recently recovered from it also how could you tell just from looking at them? Is there certain things to look out for so I can get rid of them quick if it ever happens again, thanks for your help!
