Hi- We have three, one-week old chicks. The Light Brahma is having a problem standing. She will stand for a really short time but prefers to sit and almost flops down. I've searched this forum and I can say that she doesn't look like a stereotypical spraddle because she keeps her legs under her. She is eating and drinking fine. The other two are much more active but everyone is getting along so I don't want to isolate her. They are on pine shavings and kept at 90-95 degrees. She did have some poopy-butt a three days ago but I washed that off and she hasn't had any since. All three have plain water and medicated feed. I'm hesitant to do the band-aid trick unless someone advises me to. I don't want to stress her out any more than necessary. I'm new to chick raising and I guess I need a little hand-holding for this part! Thanks, Jo

I went ahead and did the band-aid treatment for spraddle. She still isn't standing and uses her wings to balance. She's eating and pooping but I haven't seen her drink any water. I've dipped her beak in the water a couple of times. I feel extremely guilty and think I should have taped her legs yesterday or the day before. It just didn't look like a true case of spraddle and now I'm still not sure. Here's some pictures-

Her wing feathers aren't as full as our other two chicks but I have all different kinds so I may be comparing apples to oranges. The other two, a buff orpington and a speckled sussex, are much more active and weigh more, too. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jo
