Is this a baby possum?

Hi! I’m wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a baby possum or a really big rat? Thank you in advance!

I don't have possums where I live but we do have rats.

However, I'd say that's possum. It's generally body shape and they way it's carrying its tail straightened isn't how a rat would appear.​

I'm seeing a load of people here who have installed trail cams and such and it's making me want to do the same!

There isn't as many predators here but I'm guessing they're fun to watch back and see what's been around your flock right?​

I would say it's an opossum. Rats look different.

I'd like to afford, some day, a game video cam. Our cam just takes motion activated stills. Love to know which hen is eating my eggs, would hate to just assume...

Oh yeah, and they have taught me that coons can squeeze in through a 3 1/4 inch crack.

Oh wow, they'll do anything to get their paws on people's chickens!

Think I may invest in one as we have previously had some confident foxes around.​

Yeah, I'm happy I invested in them. I have 2 coops with cameras watching them. I edited my previous post. There are two Raccoons trying to get in. GC

I have a Moultree (I think that's how you spell it?) game cam. It has captured many predators around my rabbit hutches. It is very helpful, and I would recommend it!
