Is this a black chicken egg?

I found this in my egg box today, I was wondering if it is a chicken egg or a Cayuga egg. My Cayugas are 8-9 months old but have not layed yet, and I thought this would be big for a first egg. Thanks for any advice!

Yep those are Cayuga eggs.

Your Cayugas are at the right age for laying. Here's an example of a Cayuga egg :

I think it may be considered small for a duck egg. Guess it depends on how big that chicken egg is.

For chickens, first time layers first start out with smaller eggs, but as they mature more the eggs get bigger. So, I assume that you ducks will do the same.
