This sweet girl is 7 weeks old and I bought her when she was sold as an Australorp. She has all of the markings of a typical Australorp (white toenails, white foot bottoms, black legs, black eyes, black beak, etc.) But her feathers don't look like the typical black. (I just assumed she was.) She has cool grayish feathers on her chest, wings, and body, but a darker head. Slight lacing on the grayish feathers. I am wondering if she's a blue? She doesn't seem to fit a splash, obviously.

I agree that seems more likely. The leg fluff and body shape seem more Australorp than Orpington, but Australorp seem much rarer. Overall, I am stumped by her.

I know this is an old thread, but since I do a lot of my research by reading old posts and I assume many others do, I figured I would update. She ended up being an Blue Andalusian. Not even close to the Black Austelorp I asked the clerk for, but...she's cute.

Do you have a picture of her when she was younger than 7 weeks? I got both a Australorp and Blue Andalusian and can't distinguish between the two in pictures of chicks on the internet. They're definitely different next to each other but neither look like your's at 7 weeks either.
