I recently hatched out four beauties from Ashers crew and I'm thinking more and more that they may be blacks. I wanted a blue but I will be happy either way

I'm just hoping I get one or two blue out of them. I may have to buy MORE! LOL That will just kill me

Anyway...this baby is just a few weeks old but his feathers are very strange. They look kind of like a splash but then the smaller feathers seem to be coming in black. The "flight" feathers are the lighter ones...Is this normal to be light and then dark on the smaller feathers? I'm guessing black....anyone have any opinions on this? Sorry, it's a bit blurry.
For your info...these come from B/B/S stock...so what do you think??

Here are the pics of them all together. Most have the same type of feathering.

I also wanted to add that these have what looks like mostly white and blue feathers coming out on the feet area. I don't see much black there at all. Anyone have pics of blue or black cochin chicks about a week or two old? It would be cool to compare. My black cochin (pictured in my avatar) I got before seemed to have way more black then these guys do.

Such pretty pretty babies!!
Time tells with colors and cockerels.
I am right up there with ya on the driven crazy by cochin colors, maybe I will have to post mine, too!
Go by the foot feathering and the rest of the wing feathers. The light/white will grow out
on the wings. My best guess is black. You can have different hues of blue, though.
Keeps life interesting.

That's gotta be blues. Blacks don't have near that much yellow, and the primaries aren't that light colored.

That is what I was thinking but then I also thought maybe their fuzz should have been a little more grey looking rather then black? Or do blues look dark when they hatch sometimes too?

These blues are on the lighter end of blue
