Is this a boy or a girl? & What breed are they?

Yesterday the white chicken’s (Amberlink maybe?) tail feathers appeared shorter (maybe they’re molting now??) and I originally believed they were a girl based on general appearance and little experience. Now I’m realizing that the loud sounds they’ve been making whenever they see me are probably crowing, and I have seen many other chickens that look like this be identified as male. I sure hope they’re not a male, as roosters aren’t legal where I live and this bird is such a sweetie. I’m also uncertain about the breed.

I’m not sure about the age, I got them at a chicken run in Idaho a few weeks ago.
