i think that its a pullet. there are no wattles on her at all and i have seen hens with that coloration. look at the feathers around the neck are they pointed or rounded? if they are pointed then roo if rounded its a hen. if you are unsure wait 2-3 weeks when those feathers come in and you can update the photos of the chicken in question

I will just have to wait and see! He/she is still chirping like a baby too. It was the rare/exotic chick from the order. He/she looks just like several EE's I've seen here. The scarring on the back right side was from a possum attack! I hope its a pullet!!

I can't keep it otherwise!

That's definitely a cockerel. Your daughter's right on that one.

Don't bother to wait and see. Listen to your daughter, that is a cockerel. With the color of the feathers and the size of comb, there's absolutely no doubt about it. He looks exactly like one of my EE roos did at that age.
