i posted on here earlier about my chicks being sicck. they are acting very lathargic but still eat and drink well. they never stand up really and like i described before that when they try to walk the bestway to describe it is i looks like they are drunk. they take a couple of steps and they fall down. when they sleep throughout the day they usually put their nose in the shavings and when they breath they sound like they are chirping with each breath. thy do not do it all the time. could this be a breathing problem? i have read different things from others and im not sure if this is what it could be. i have 6 and 4 are acting funny and 2 are normal. i did seperate them. i took out the sick ones and put them in a cardboard box and kept the 2 in the aquarium. After 2 weeks of this i switched them around to see if it made a difference. it didnt. i give them both clean water everyday and clean out the shavings once maybe twice a week. could it be breathing that would cause everything?

Are they on pine or cedar? What type of chicks and what age? Have you noticed any discharge from eyes or nostrils? Sorry so many ?'s.

Thats alright. The chicks are about a 5-6 weeks old. They are pine shavings, and i know i sound dumb but i do not know what kind of chickens they are. whenever i look at pictures online the chickens are always full grown so i have no idea yet. I have not noticed any discharge from their eyes or anywhere else. they seem to be weak. I have 2 that are doing great and they are almot double in size of the sick ones. One of the sick ones is the the same kind as the 2 that are well so im not sure what is going on. they are still eating and drinking though....

Are these chicks out side in a house, do u live where these buffalo nats are... These things can kill any thing, I live in Illinois , my chickens stay in coops alot, we have fan running in there,,,,, Just a thought.... Good Luck..
