Is this a Buff Orpington Roo or Hen?

This is Ernie. S/he's about 16 weeks and is one of two buff orpingtons I have that age. What do you think - Roo or not? Her comb in super red, and her wattle is much larger than her sister's. (Her sister, Bert, is the lighter-combed fluffier gal in the pics.) Also, lately, she and my 16-week-old EE roo, "Bob," have been facing off against one another. They'll get in each other's faces and puff out their neck feathers. They never peck each other, though. Thoughts? Thanks a lot.

You have a pair of Buff Orpingtons - the one with the "super red" comb also has the beginnings of glossy saddle feathers.

I was looking more at the shape of the hackle feathers and saddle feathers on Super comb. They appear to be more pointy, which is supposed to be an indication of a roo. My buddy has a couple BOs and even his hens have glossy hackles, but they are pampered little biddys. In my inexperienced opinion, you have a hen and a cockerel

Looks like a boy and girl to me. At 15 weeks old my BO rooster started crowing and at 16 weeks old he started trying to mount the hens.

This summer I hatched and raised ten blue Orpingtons. When they were the size of yours I strongly suspected that seven of them were roosters, but I was hoping that I was wrong. Yep, I ended up giving away six roosters and keeping one. I'd bet a dollar to a donut that the one with a large comb is a rooster.

I've had BO chicks, they were the friendliest little things ever. I reckon the one with the large red comb is a boy, he is very handsome

Yes, I think that one's a boy. Was he also slower than the others in growing tail and wing feathers? That would be another way of telling.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. I guess I've got a cockerel on my hands. My other cockerel, Bob, is my son's favorite bird. So...now what do I do? I don't really want two roosters anyway, as I have a small flock of eight ladies. Hmmm...what to do...
