Is this a cockoo or a rock?

We got this guy from a feed store. They said it’s a cockoo maran, but I can’t tell the difference between that and a barred rock.

How do you tell the difference? This is our first time owning chickens.

Cuckoo marans are more...spotty. barred rocks are, well, barred. Cuckoos have white legs, barred rocks have yellow.

I found this informative.....even still....I cannot tell them apart except for the legs.
