Thank you. I think she may just have some genetics skipped or never included so she is missing the crest.I've read that sometimes cream legs can be bred in a certain way that there isn't a crest. I don't own Cream Legs so idk
Thanks, I feel like all chickens just look like really pretty birds.no matter who she is, she is very pretty
It's not just the crest :/ Her coloring while similar, is not right for a Legbar. Legbars in the UK do come in a gold, non-crested variety, but she does not look to be one. What color is her eggs? That’s interesting. Thanks for checking your books. I have no clue because she looks just like a Cream Legbar...but without the crest feathers. I’ve found this ‘The Cream Legbar is a popular English breed created by crossing Barred Plymouth Rocks and Brown Leghorns with Araucanas’. Do you think my chicken might have had the Araucana left out of her genetics? I have no clue though because I don’t have any knowledge of genetics.
Oh right. So back to square oneIt's not just the crest :/ Her coloring while similar, is not right for a Legbar. Legbars in the UK do come in a gold, non-crested variety, but she does not look to be one. What color is her eggs?
Not trying to complicate it further, but actually Gold Legbars do indeed lay white or cream eggs! Her coloring is off and she lacks the barring however so she is not one. She looks almost like she's wild type that's diluted... I'll keep looking into it to see if I can find out anything more about possibilities. Where did you get her? Any chance they would know? I bet she's just a pretty mixOh right. So back to square oneI’m pretty certain they are pale eggs, but they could be white. Thing is, all my chickens are different breeds, bar two of them, and they sit on top of each other’s eggs when they lay so I don’t know for certain. So I would say white or pale.
Yes, she isn’t that slim. Smaller than some of my other chickens but not by much. Thank youAnd her body seems so big. Dual purpose. Kinda Orpy? My Legbars (US) are more streamlined. She is still very pretty.
