No way she’s a rooster. 100% a pullet.Hi, now that we know this is a gamefowl, we just wanted to make sure she's actually a hen? She's around 14/15 weeks. Can anyone confirm?
You have to introduce her properly, if you dont know how to introduce new chickens, you could look up an article about it here on BYC. I like to use the "see no touch" rule.Ok, next question- we are about to integrate her with our flock but she's half the size and has only lived alone thus far. Do you think she'll be ok with 3 other hens? (buff orpington, ee and cream legbar) She's the youngest. We've kept her separate since we got her on sunday. thank you for your replies!![]()
yes, us too- they are only separated by a gate where they can eat right next to each other, see each other. It's just unique that she's always lived alone prior to us taking her in.You have to introduce her properly, if you dont know how to introduce new chickens, you could look up an article about it here on BYC. If she has always been able to see them and not actually get to them AND you don't notice any diseases for the time you had her, you should be able to add her in. Usually when taking in new arrivals, we seperate them for a month to check for odd behavior or sickness.yes, us too- they are only separated by a gate where they can eat right next to each other, see each other.
