I just bought three chickens from a nice suburban mom who had a coop of five chickens born this July. I got a Cream Legbar, a Welsummer, and this AWESOMELY huge and beautiful bird. She's so cool! And a giant compared to the other two.
I think the owner said she was a Buff Brahma but she must be a laced variety, right? Her lacing is so distinct especially on her feathery legs. Very quiet and shy.

I think you might be right, but I am not sure, maybe someone else will see this and tell you

I have never seen a Golden Laced Brahma before. That bird looks like a Brahma and if the bird isn't fully mature, it look like it is developing Golden Lacing.

Just googled laced buff brahmas and they look like what you have with a little more lacing

Does it have a single comb? That's what I think I'm seeing in your picture. If so, I'd guess she's probably a golden laced Cochin, since Brahmas are supposed to have pea combs. If she's a standard sized Cochin, that would really explain the lack of lacing. Most of the fancy colors need a lot of work on the LF varieties.

She's really pretty!

Agreed.

What type of comb does she have? If it is a single comb, she's a Cochin. If it is a pea comb, she's a Brahma.

Well she's HUGE and young. So I'm guessing standard Cochin? She is so big but so timid--sweet and accommodating with me but the target of all the other birds. She and the other two newbies are in their own smaller coop/run within our pasture so they can hopefully integrate better.

Cool!! Ok, so I have some type of Laced Cochin...that's about the best I can gather!!
