I have 2 LG's with turner and fan. I like them alot. They are difficult to get temps steady without the fan. After getting the fan they run great and have had 2 hatches over 75 %.

I have a little LG still air with a turner and I like it. It may be one of those things like if all you have ever had is hamburger and you like it, you can't figure out what all the fuss is about steak. Once you have steak, you probably wouldn't want to go back to hamburger.
Really I don't know, but if you crank it up a few days before you set your eggs to give the temp. time to adjust, and it isn't in front of a window, I rarely have to do much adjusting to mine. I do agree you probably want a different thermometer though.

I have an LG still air incubator. I've only used it once and had no success. Glad to hear about the thermometer problem. Maybe that was part of the lack of success. I know we had a real hard time keeping the eggs at the right temp. Think I'll give it another shot with a better thermometer before tossing it.

I just saw the same incubator for $39 at the feed store. I bet you can find it cheaper. I debated buying it but I went with a hovabator for my first one and haven't had any complaints so I might just get another.

once you get your LG and know how to work it you will be fine.

most people like myself don't have Hova bator $$$$$ even if we do save. so the LG is the way to go

i tried making my own bator i ended up burning it it's to frustrating in my opinion.

I have four of each LG and Hova..

the solid state thermostat is touchy to adjust but once there put a piece of tape over the adjustment handle.. I can stablize my lg in a few hours. once you get the hang of it.. I even replaced the wafers in two of my hovabators with lg solid state therms. and I also put one in the 126 egger that I built..

as far as that 3 egger that you mentioned.. we just hashed that one out about a week ago.. It is as the majority ruled JUNK !!!
It just makes my stomach jump to hear someone considering one of those..

You will be ooking for a cabinet style before long anyhow..

and spend your money on a good thermometer. that is more important than a hygrometer or even the make of your incubator..

As a side note, anyone with a LG they don't want I will take it. This year I have 18 more class rooms that wnt to incubate eggs. For small amounts of eggs, I only use L Gs.

i see you guys say save money and buy a hovabator but for someone who is not a regular or has even tried hatching being is pending all that money first worth it, if it may only get used 1 or 2 times a year, i mean if i get to where i have more time i could invest in a hovabator but for now i think its a lil pricey
