def. try craigslist. I use a 9X9 dog kennel as my chicken run and I got it off craigslist for $100 bucks. You would never even know it was used. I think it would make a great chicken area in NM, up here in NH it is just a run with an attached coop. Cool thing if you ever want to build a house you can do what we did and just build the building next to it and then we cut a hole (bolt cutters) in the side and made the chicken doors open to it.

Here are some I found for you. I dont know what your price range is. i personally like the 6 ft tall ones. But Im 5'10 so I like to be able to stand up in my coop/run.

I think they're talking about cutting a hole in the kennel. If you have your kennel next to the coop, some people cut a hole in the side for the pop door. Mines not up and running with my new coop. But what I plan on doing is have a three sided kennel for the run. The four wall will be my coop. That way I wont waste one of the kennel pieces and wont have to cut into it either.

I dont know how fast you need it, but you might wait a little while and keep checking on CL. Sometimes you can get way better deals that way. I also buy a lot from CL as well. Ive noticed that the more $$ someone is asking the more you can normally get them down lower. Like that one your talking about, the $140. I might email them and offer $100. If theyre really needing to sell it they might be willing to take it. Or if nothing else, they might say they can take $120. Hey if I can get it for $20 cheaper, then thats $20 I can spend on something else for my chickens. Lol. Just a thought..

Actually the link above that one is 125$ but it doesn't come with the roof thing. They come with a roofing thing sold separately and actually I need this thing ASAP so the day my mom gets paid we are likely to get it. Oh and I need it ASAP cuz my juvie coop and juvie hutch are WAY to crowded. To werecatrising. I love the idea but unfortunately my adult coop is built right behind the tree that my juvie coop is in front of LOL. Plus what I plan on doing is saving all the money that I get from selling my eggs and chickens in ABQ and using that money for of course feed and to find a few more of that model of dog run on CL then putting two of them facing each other doors then the same till I reach the 1/2 mark of my 3/4 of an acre field. I have alot of chickens LOL. Plus I can have separate breeding pens, AND now I plan on creating my own breed and I learned that I need to separate roos for at least 3 weeks for ones sperm to die. Hey if I were to put my 2 roos together without females and I removed their spurs, would they still fight? (hope full face not)

I don't have a roofing thing on mine per say, I just added poultry netting and a tarp (it rained all of June up here) and even without the roofing thing it stays up there with little twist ties no problem.

And yes, I ment cutting a hole in the kennel if you decide later to put a coop next to it, our little pop door opens right into this way. We chose to do this rather then take down a wall because we had already installed the whole thing and dug down 6 inches the whole way around and put more wired netting in. I feared that if we removed the side I couldn't make it as safe and I never had to take the chickens out of the pen while I built.

I am sure your chickens will love the room!!
