Is this a good or bad idea?

my broody hens always seem to fail hatching chickens i was just thinking next time i have a broody hen if it would be a good idea to buy a incubator then when a hen goes broody put some eggs in then wen they start to hatch take them to the hens and put them under her? is this a good or a bad idea?

I've never tried that, but when my silkie gets broody I replace her eggs with fertilized eggs I buy.

My daughter puts newly hatched chicks under her broody quite frequently with no problems. Some people recommend doing it at night.

ok i was thinking of putting the egg in wen it was in the middle of hatchingg
