Hello, I have 3 Barred Plymouth Rock Hens. We bought a coop with a nesting box and used to let the chickens roam the yard all day, locking them in the coop at night. However chickens poop a lot! And they are not little droppings either! They were pooping all over the patio, patio furniture and also getting into my potter plants and making a mess with the dirt. So I built them this run to attach to the coop :) the coop run actually sticks into the run where the opening is so they have constant access. We live in a suburban neighborhood and other than opossums we don't have any egg stealers or predators. I let my chickens out to roam the yard while I outside (to make sure they stay on the grass area) which is about an hour a day. The run is 8ft by 5ft. I am just wondering is this seems like enough space for my chickens? I have read if they are cramped they tend to get sick and I want healthy happy birds :)

It looks nice. Great for 3 girls! Just know that they will always want whats on the other side of the fence no matter how much space you give them.

That looks great, don't let people tell you that the coop is to small though. Chickens don't need to be treated like gods. What you have is perfect and comfy, I'm sure you will have some happy hens. I just ordered a coop just like that and now all I need is an extended run like yours

5' x 8' is 40 sq ft, which would be plenty for 4 birds, and you only have 3... Seems like enough space to me!
