We have this Porcelain D'uccle Bantam that is now 12 months old......... We thought this was a female, but after 12 months with still NO eggs we are wondering if this is actually a male?

"It" doesn't crow like a rooster. In fact it's totally quiet and doesn't make any noises.

Also it's kept in my 4'x4' coop and 3'x8' run (see picture in my avatar) so there is no why it could be hiding eggs.

Here are a couple pictures of it taken today.............

So does it look like a hen or rooster?

Thank you!

We have a 10 month old Porcelain D'uccle rooster and his comb was bright red and larger by the time he was 3 or 4 months. He looks like a full fledged rooster...super long gray rooster tail, large red comb, long hackle feathers, and a crower. Here he is...

Thank you! I actually have to rehome him because we're moving to the city. His crow is so nice:) He started at about 6 month.

I have a buff mottled and Mille fluer d'uccle both hens (who just started laying the cutest eggs!) and the buff mottled has a redder comb and a little bigger than the Mille fleur...I thought she might be a rooster but no hackles and no tail...and she lays:)

I think yours is a hen.

The roo in my profile picture is a d'uccle at 5 months. The boy d'uccles get huge red combs pretty early on. Mine started crowing at 1.5 months.

My Porcelain D'uccle Bantam finally laid her FIRST egg today.... After 1 year!!!!

I was really thinking that she would NEVER ever lay. I was also worried that "she" might be a "he" and even asked some of you about a week ago!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited I can't believe she really laid this little off-white egg!

Here they are from left to right........ 2 ISA Browns, 1 Easter-egger (light blue), and 1 Porcelain D'uccle Bantam (off-white).

it's so cute!!! But I'd need about 6 of them to have a "3-egg" breakfast! Lol!!

I can't wait till tomorrow to see if she lays another! Wonder what she thought as she was laying it???
