I got this egg today - my girls are starting to lay again after their usual winter break, up to now only one. I got two eggs today, and based on eggs color ect I think it know who laid it- and it’s her first of the season. The egg itself is a very thin shell but normal on the inside. The little thing next to to me looks like a very small lash egg? Pictures attached. The chcikens are 4 almost 5 and otherwise acting normal. Please let me know what you think

Yes, I think that is lash material. It is common occurring with salpingitis, inflammation of the oviduct. Are you giving crushed oyster shell, and feeding layer feed? I would give some human calcium citrate with vitamin D for a few days for the thin shelled egg, to help strengthen the shell. Some use an antibiotic such as amoxicillin for infection early on. A vet may prescribe meloxicam for inflammation. Here is some reading:

No, I would just observe them. She may have some symptoms of act a little off, lethargic, or have her tail down. Most of us never see lash eggs, as they can disappear, or be laid inside the oviduct or abdomen.
