Was told it was an americana when I bought it. I know people can get heated on the subject of this.(this chicken does have blue feet) I have no idea the breed lines. It has a grayish head and back of neck (best seen in the 1st pic)that fades into a white, orange/red color. Belly is white with orange/red pattern. Has a full beard and side burns it's just a little wet in these pics as it just had a drink, lol.

Doesn't matter to me either way,but would like your opinions on what u think it is.... Also, I really need to know what sex u think it is. Was told it was a female... Any and all help is appreciated.

Age? I actually believe I see hackle feathers, and those red wing bars are making me nervous. A standing side pic in natural light would be great.

Also, he's impure colour. Which means that even if he is an Ameraucana, he's crossbred between two colours and therefore, technically, a mutt. But really. Unless you show or love to brag about your pedigreed chickens, who cares? (Unless you want blue eggs.)

Agree with @sylviethecochin on this. I want to lean more cockerel, but how old is this bird?
also, I agree that the color isn't consistant with any approved color for ameraucana. Note the spelling. If the person you bought him from had it as AmerIcana, then I'd have to go with EE. That said, it could very well be that both of his parents were ameraucana, and if they were, they probably weren't of the same color pattern.

Okay guys. Here's a little more info and pics...sorry about the spelling error in "ameraucana", total spaced out on fixing that after I was done typing. My phone kept auto correcting It,lol. It was late and busy day. The chick just turned 12 weeks. I got it when it was 9 weeks old. Its super lazy. It pecks and scratches some. But will just lay down like a dog on its side and sleep and sun bathe most the day, lol. I think it was mostly caged before i got it. We r having to teach it how to "be a chicken" and free range like my others... Its a process. Super sweet little thing. I was able to get some more pics today, in the sunlight. Take a look at them and let me know what you think. And thanks for the replies!

Sorry about the spelling error. My phone just doesn't want me to spell it right. I HATE spelling words wrong! Age is 12 weeks. I took some pics in the sunlight today. Take a gander and see if it makes it any clearer for you to see. Thanks for your reply!
