Agreed. I'd say she's a BSLYeah, I'd say she's a Black Sex Link...and I agree, they are surprisingly super pretty!
My BSL laid fairly darker brown eggs, too, in her first year (or, last year when she started laying in late July, I believe). And hers also tended to have lovely spots...sometimes the spots were even a pretty lavender color (her eggs ARE pretty small, though). Now that she's laying again, most of her eggs aren't the same or as pretty as they were last year, but they're still okay.
And the Black Copper Marans only have the copper color on their necks, not past that like BSLs. And some have feathered legs (which I prefer for/on that breed), while other strains don't.
