Someone had told me when she was a bit younger that she was a Black Copper Maran?

Thank you! don’t know what to hope for lol I was hoping for her to be a BCM or some type of Marans as they are gorgeous and I believe they lay deep dark chocolate brown eggs (correct me if I’m wronge) but she’ll be laying soon and I’m hoping they are dark brown she’s my favorite bird very sweet and loves to be held and she’s such a special bird

She sounds wonderful! Yes, Marans usually do lay those gorgeous, deep brown eggs, although the shade varies by bloodline and quality. However, the BSL hen we used to own did lay some very pretty slightly darker brown, speckled eggs. Every bird is different, but I hope she'll give you some beauties

Many countries no longer have the feathered legs as the standard in BCMs. That being said, your bird has a lot of lovely coppery colored feathers past the hackles for a BCM. What color are the soles of her feet?

Yeah, I'd say she's a Black Sex Link...and I agree, they are surprisingly super pretty!
My BSL laid fairly darker brown eggs, too, in her first year (or, last year when she started laying in late July, I believe). And hers also tended to have lovely spots...sometimes the spots were even a pretty lavender color (her eggs ARE pretty small, though). Now that she's laying again, most of her eggs aren't the same or as pretty as they were last year, but they're still okay. :)

And the Black Copper Marans only have the copper color on their necks, not past that like BSLs. And some have feathered legs (which I prefer for/on that breed), while other strains don't.

Agreed. I'd say she's a BSL :)
I had three, all really good layers, though I never had pretty dark brown eggs from them. Giant eggs, though!
