Hi, I tried to get the best pics I could. The eggs are due to hatch and I've never hatched quails before, so I was wondering if this is what a pip should look like? I haven't noticed it before today, but I've been keeping an eye on this egg since I think I've seen it shake a couple times before. It's hard to tell and the incubator glass is double-paned so I can't be certain. I circled the area in red. When I look at it from the side it looks like it has a slight edge, but I figured I'd ask someone experienced. :) Thank you!

I tried looking up to see how long it'll be till hatching is complete, but it seems a little varied. Is it safe to say it should take a day or two?
With chickens, 12-24 hours from pip to zip is common, although some don't read the book and pip and zip in rapid succession, they have running around to do. Quail I am not sure, I imagine similar, although they mature so quickly could be a shorter timeline.

Thanks, the pip seems to be sticking out a little more than it was when I was taking the picture. I've got everything for the brooder ready so it'll be a quick setup when they hatch. I'll probably stay up a little tonight but the hatch will probably happen tomorrow.

Yes that does appear to be an external pip!! Keep humidity stable and incubator lockdown.....will hopefully have zip, and hatch in 12-24 hours!!!!
