Is this a problem?

My chickens are getting pretty old and they aren't laying anymore is it because they're old or what? My family doesn't know what to do please help.

Hi! There about maybe 6-8 years old or just 5. There not sick, healthy chickens

They are probably just done being layers.

Are you wanting to rehire them or just let them live out their lives with you?

Just getting old I would say. I understand the average lifespan of a chicken is 6-9 years.

Most layers are pretty much done producing by 5 years old. They may be your friends, but its either soup pot time, or supporting them through their retirement years....
