Is this a problem?

I've noticed that the combs on several of my chickens have started turning a dark grey. Almost looks like a fungus on them but could just be discoloration. Does this sound normal? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. It almost looks like pics i've seen of frost bite but it's been way to warm for that to be the case.

It don't sound normal. Can you post a picture of them? Only thing that comes to mind for me is Fowl pox or just dirty.
My one Rooster likes to stick his head in tight places to get certain greens and he marks up his comb doing that.

my wife posted pics under thread titled What is this? Doesn't look like blisters like the pics i saw showing pox. Some of them have seem to clear up on their own. Maybe dry pox?
