Is this a Production Red?Pics included

I wouldn't be too upset at the feedstore, as this is what feedstore sell. Production oriented birds. Hatchery stock and sometimes, local stock, on occasion. It is what it is.

If she's healthy and lays lots of eggs for you? It's all good, That's what such birds do well, in most cases. Represent the true nature of the breed claimed to be? Not so much. It depends on what you want out of your birds. I'm a breeder who strives to breed high quality birds to the Standard. That's my desire, but may not be your goal in keeping a few backyard egg layers.
Is it easy breeding? What can you do to get yours hens to sit?

So red hens with black tails are Rhode Island reds? I was thinking my chicks were red sex links. Or production reds... but they are all red with black tails. I don't care one way or another. When I get chickens, I am wanting them to be chickens that lay eggs. Never worried too much about breeds. Especially because next year whatever I have this year will just add into my mix for the next year. So on and so forth. Started with chickens I liked for their colors, laying, foraging or whatever...then turned them loose. Now I've been hatching my face off with all sorts of neat mixes. One day I will have the perfect chicken for my area...barring I stop adding new chickens to the mix at some point. I like the variety. People are like ooh that's pretty what kind of chicken is that? Well that ones gray. It's a gray chicken...lol
Mine are mostly colors and features more than a breed. Orange bearded, or gray feather footed... or orange and gray bearded and feather footed...

Yes.

I also pick as a visual experience. I love colors, penciling, lacing, beards, feathered feet, crested. All of these attributes appeal to me lol I think the more colors, the more beautiful the bird is. But that's just my personal opinion.

I love chit chat still! Its just i wasn't expecting her to be a Rir
What Fred is trying to tell you is that she is not really an RIR. She is a hatchery cross called RIRs by the hatcheries. This hen most likely has brown leghorn mixed in so the body is shaped wrong along with the colors.

She will lay a lot of eggs, almost as much as a Red Sexlink.

The silver sebright would have to be a close second to my buff Brahma, but Egyptian fayoumis and SLWs are gorgeous as well. And my wife's crazy about Silkies.
