One of my birds laid her first egg (for me) today!

We think she is a silkie mix although we have no idea with what. She isn't tiny, but her egg was so small (especially compared with our Golden Comet) She has been here for 3 or 4 weeks now. I have no idea how old she is, so no clue if it's possible that this could be her first egg or if she'll always lay these tiny cute ones...

Here is her egg with the Golden Comets

and with the GC compared with store bought eggs

Here she is...

(both of her wings were clipped extremely short when we got her) She isn't much smaller than the GC.

that looks like my silkie Hope's egg and she is just over a year.

I wish I knew what she was mixed with! I was so surprised to find two eggs in the nesting box today, and even more shocked by how cute and tiny it was. I just assumed that because she's much bigger than a bantam that her eggs would be too!

I'm just glad she's laying! I can't wait to show off her tiny egg tomorrow to anyone who stops by.

LOL I guess I should have clarified...(Does it look like an egg laid by a pullet or a hen?)

I don't know if I'd want to eat a rooster egg!

I have one that looks just like that but mine has a little puff on top of its head. I think it is between a polish and a silkie.
