Is this a quitter?

I am on day 8 of my button quail egg incubation (half way through) I candled this morning and saw this.... Is it a quitter?

Yes, I believe this is a quitter. You should not be able to see anything black on day 8 except for a dot; the eye.

Yes quitter, it has a blood ring around it, looks like it died around day 3 or so, crack it open and have a look, if you compare it to your other viable eggs they should be much darker provided they were all started at the same time.

Thanks for the help! i "eggtopsied" it and it was in fact a quitter. Bummer!
