Is this a Rhode Island Red rooster?

I hatched this boy from an egg I got from my husbands friend. He didn't know what breed chickens he had and I am confused when it comes to RIR, NHR, and Red SL. He is a beautiful boy and was a light brownish red when he was a chick. He is now a deep rust/burgundy color w/ a beetle green tail. His hackle feathers have a very slight gold or light rust lacing but it is very subtle.

Production red but still a great bird to have. I love my production hens, they are so productive, sweet and good natured. The rooster is mean though. Apparently McMurray has mean roosters in their line, from what I've read anyway. He is pretty though. Really thick feathers and so darn solid-looking.
