Is this a roo?

Absolutely a roo! Can't you see that look in his eye? Sizing you up, patiently waiting for you to turn your back......then WHAM! Just kidding. It does really look like a roo in the second pic due to the neck feathers. Also in the first pic, the tail feathers look a little curved, but might be the wind.
I vote ROO!

Thanks everyone!

If anyone knows somebody in South East Michigan who wants a sweet orpington rooster, I have one too many! I don't have the heart to eat him.

i would have to say by the age it seems like it would have to be a hen, however it could be a capon.

Spurs do not a rooster make...

All chicks have the spur bumps on their legs and even some hens grown long sharp spurs. A side photo of the birds body showing the saddle feathers (right in front of the tail) would be a huge help. If those feathers are long and pointy, then you've got a roo. The same with the hackle (neck) feathers. In looking at the one pic, those do look rather pointy.

Thanks all. I've pretty much accepted that I have another rooster on my hands.

Can't post pictures since I'm new, but there is an up close side view on my byc page.
