this barred rock chick is about two weeks old and pretty much the boss of the brooder. s/he is a lot bigger than the silver laced wyondotte that is the same age. s/he had a tail by about a week and a half which i heard is usually a sign of it being a hen. im thinking since barred rocks are dual-purposed maybe s/he is just growing faster than the others? please help!i will post pictures soon.

im trying to get pics but my computer wont cooperate

. its feathers are growing really fast though.

Yes, pictures help. Does he/she have lighter colored feathers?
Here is an example.

Thats a pullet up there

And thats a cockerel.

See the difference in feather coloring??

that helps a little bit mr mkk farms. thanks. my chick is leaning more towards how the pullet looks. sorry about the picks though, ive gotten picks on here before, but the sd card isnt working anymore. gonna try something else.

okay, i finally got it to work but i need to get some updated picks. i will try to get them in the morning because i cant get them right now. sorry about the wait but i was pretty frustrated with my computer.

here we go:

she (i'm hoping) has always been bigger than the SLW. i'm hoping this is just because of the breed.

her comb isnt red or even pink, same with wattles.

my mom named her martha (i dunno) or marty (from madagascar) if its a boy.

and while i have the pictures going i thought i might put these on: i have an ameraucana chick that i thought was going to be blue but it has a rust color too. i was just wondering what the color was.

her sister is blue wheaton, am i right? i named them salt and pepper.

im am so glad i finally got picks!
