I just would think that at a year old, they would have bigger combs and wattles. My chickens are around the same age as yours and they have huge combs and wattles. All mine are hens.They are actually both from the same parents the mom was a mix I have no clue and the dad is a Cochin red sexlink mix
Yeah they are pointedThe red and black is definitely a cockerel. But I'm not so sure about your mottled bird without a tail. If they are almost a year old, you could either have a hen or a late maturing cockerel.
I'm leaning towards cockerel though. I think I see some pointed hackle feathers on the neck. But that coloration makes it hard to tell.
