I got this one from the mixed bantam bin at TSC. I assumed it was a cochin until it started growing in the wing feathers. Does it look like a really dark salmon favorelle? It's really dark. Any clue on gender?

It looks like a faverolles. The dark feathers look female to me right now, but if it gets any black feathers on its chest, its a male. Faverolles are getting darker and darker, just bad genetics.

Well, found a pic from this morning. Only 4 toes. So cochin? Or bad quality favorelle? I know sometimes hatchery quality silkies only have 4 toes. If it's cochin, then a partridge? All of the partridge cochin chicks I've seen are darker as babies. But I'm no expert! I have silkies, d'uccles, and 1 black cochin which I got at about 3 months old, so not much experience with them as chicks.

A Faverolle should have 5 toes and feathered legs. Not sure that I’ve ever seen a mention on here about a 4- toed SF!

cute chick, I hope you figure out what it is!
