Ok so my 2 girls are 21 weeks old now and the same as everyone else i am back and forth the coop, run and the whole of my garden anticipating my first egg...Iv spent alot of time in the garden today as im redoing my herb patch, whilst out there iv noticed them squatting alot and if i go over to them they squat then too..... so the big question is is this a sign that they might be ready to lay?

...followed by "playing house" in the nest boxes.

Your first egg will arrive about two days after you pull all your hair out from frustration and swear that you have the world's only non-egglaying chickens.

That's for sure. Just when you give up and buy some...............whammo, they decide to lay.

Yep so true thats what happened to me, I thought they were never gunna lay and then I buy eggs and the next day we got 2 eggs from our girls

So hilarious, this is exactly how we are right now! I actually just said today, "what if they never lay? is it possible to have non laying chickens?" lol.
