Is this a splash Ameraucana?

He is splash with leakage problems. If you use him, you will have more problems with the chicks. I would put him in an EE pen.

Thank you for that info. Now I understand why I haven't seen any like him on the Ameraucana sites.
He is happily living in a pen with a bunch of EE girls. I have not mixed in my Ameraucana Hens yet. I am glad I waited.

Bottom of his feet are white. Bought him with 3 blue Ameraucana hens and a black Ameraucana Hen. His color is just so different from the other splash roosters I look at. All came from MPC.

He's a true Ameraucana, then, if that's what you ordered. Yellow bottoms of the feet would indicate otherwise.

I hope so. I just recently purchased 10 more EE hens from TSC, and out of the lot I got 2 with hats, no muffs and no beards. I was told that hatcheries were not breeding the traditional EE's anymore due to the Ameraucana/EE mix ups. This is a shame. Fuzzy faces on EE's are part of their charm.
I have an EE rooster along with this splash Ameracauna. I am going to breed my own fuzzy faced EE's & OE's. I think they are adorable.

And......for future reference, does anybody know how you get "leakage problems"? Or how to avoid it? I don't plan to show any of my chickens, but if I breed them I would like to do the purebreds correctly.

Well if you ordered Ameraucanas then you got Ameraucanas unless they told you otherwise.
