I had several chicks hatch throughout the day yesterday. This morning, I noticed that one of them wasn't getting up much and then noticed that it was hobbling about when it wanted to move. I am pretty sure it's a splayed leg, but I wanted to get a confirmation. I've also ready about a slipped Achilles tendon, but I don't think that's what it is.. Once again, I haven't experienced this before, so would like a second opinion. For now, I am treating it as a splayed leg and have put a band aid to keep the legs together.
If it is indeed a splayed leg, should I put the legs at the correct stance or would this have to be done in stages (ie: pulling the legs together a little closer to the normal stance each day)? Thanks for any advice!
