Is this a welsummer pullet?

Welsummers are sexually dimorphic with color. Males will get black in their breast feathers, & females will have salmon.

So the one I have is a pullet, correct?

I don't think it is old enough to be sure. It's not even close to being fully feathered out. Generally lighter breast feathers in Welsummers means you have a pullet, but once in a while the dark male breast feathers don't come in until a little later. So I would wait a couple of weeks and re-evaluate.

Most likely, though black may come into the breasts alittle later. So I'd wait 1 more week, or 2 just to confirm gender.

Interesting they’re not even close to feathering out! I have 2 welsummer brooding with some black australorp and barred rocks and Easter egger. The welsummer chicks are by far the smallest. They look very similar to me so if I have 2 welsummer cockerels instead of pullets I will be irritated
