Is This Air Cell To Small?

Greetings,

We are hatching some runner duck eggs, and we are concerned that the air cell is too small. The eggs are at about day 19, but the cell still looks small. Any advice is appreciated!

Looks small to me, what is your humidity at?

Unfortunately, we do not have a humidity gauge, so we have to guess. We are going to let it run a little dryer for the next few days and see if that does anything.

Can you get one? Incubating without a hydrometer is not very good.

We have a humidity gauge, what do you advise we do now?

Put in it the incubator and tell us what it says!

The incubator started off at about 50% humidity, but we brought it down to a steady 35%.

That sounds better, and three days before hatch raise the humidity back up to 60%.

Sorry to jump on your thread, I thought humidity had to be around 50% that’s what I’ve got mine at, I’m worried now
