Is this an Ameraucana?

Oh yea, I think it might be a boy but you should ask for a second opinion. They have a EE sexing thread on here and they could tell you.

i was thinking it was a cockerel to but wasnt sure need a better clear closer comb shot but coloring is making me lean towards a cockerel

I am not sure if he is old enough or not but, look at the feathers coming in on his shoulders blades. If the feathers coming in are a rust red color its a boy. I am sure it is an EE and pretty sure it is boy. Anyway good luck hope you get what you want. You should update us when you figure out for sure if it is a boy or a girl.

Ahhh oh no! Its dark now but first thing tomorrow i will have to check out the comb! I love her/him but i don't think i want a boy! Thanks for the input everyone

lol I couldn't wait until morning. The pics aren't great because its dusk but I got some pics of her/his comb. There is def only one row for now, she/he is only two months old though

Hmmmm, I am a little confused. The feather coloring definitely says boy but, the comb not so much. If you are really interested in knowing I would go to this link and ask other BYCers that are experienced with EEs. I kind of hope you do because, I am very interested in seeing what other people say about your little one. I have gotten pretty good at Sexing EEs but, I am a little thrown off by your little ones comb. I put the link to the post where they will help you sex your EE below.

Good luck,

thanks! I did post over on that thread, everyone seems a bit confused by her/him lol. I have a feeling we might just have to wait and see if we get eggs or crowing

single combs make it harder to sex these birds i still lean towards cockerel based on color while pullet based on comb

K, I am gonna have to go over there and follow along. Yea, that one is definitely a toughy with the comb like that. I think I am gonna have to vote on boy.

Let us know when you get a crow or an egg or rust colored feathers on the shoulder blade.
