Is this an easter egger?

These are for sale down the road and I really wanted 1 easter egger, but the people don't know, just said it's mixed....

Oh, and are Americaunas the same as easter eggers... cause I keep reading that they are not and that easter eggers are not a true breed, are more quirky, and friendly and americaunas can tend to be aggressive... is this true? Thank so much

Well, to me the brown ones look like they have some Red Sex Link in them. I don't know what the white ones are. I don't think they are Easter Eggers.

I don't think they are EE's. Not sure what they are. One has yellow legs so that isn't typical on an EE. In my experience EE's are more aggressive and true, standard breed Ameraucanas are less so. It really depends on the line and if the breeder chose against that. I doubt hatcheries, which most EE's come from, choose for temperment when breeding.

I don't see any of the normal EE characteristics there, just mixed breed birds.


EE are not the same as Ameraucanas. EE are pretty much any bird that doesn't conform to another breed standard that lays a colored egg. Ameraucanas are a standardized breed with specific characteristics and colors.

My personal preference is for Easter eggers. I like visual variety in my flock, I don't want a flock of birds that all look the same. I also like variety in my egg basket, and EE give me different colored eggs.
