Hey!
Recently, one of my hens has been acting a bit strange. She's a three-year-old golden comet, and is usually active. However, she now simply just stands around and only moves when food is offered to her. She would usually shy away, but when I approach her, she hardly responds. She isn't laying any eggs, and I hardly ever see her running around like the others in my flock.
Another possible issue I noticed is that her waste is just a clear liquid.

Does anyone know if this is a problem?
If so, how can I help her out?
Thank you!

This is a problem. It could be a sign of a virus, but it also sounds like worms. Offer a dust bath with wood ash to make sure she has no parasites and try worming her and make sure she gets lots of vitamin and electrolytes. Also, watch out that she isn't getting water belly or egg yolk peritonitis.

I hope she gets better soon. Best of luck!

Thank you!
I'm a bit hesitant to take action, though. I watched her again, and after setting her in the shade, she did freeze up for a bit, but began exploring after a while.

Should I feed her buttermilk?

I'm not sure, I've never used buttermilk before.

Update: good news! After operation buttermilk, she seems to be acting normal. If something strange happens again with her, I'll refer back to this thread. Thank you for the advice!

Awesome.
