Is this baby all Australorp? The wing feathers have bars!

Here are some more pics of the little grey bird's feathers too. They grey is feathering much slower than the black chick!

This little chick is a pretty blue/grey. He/she hatched with what I believe is a black Australorp but the size difference is huge between them and the blue grey is getting bars on the wings?! The seller I bought the eggs from has blue and black Australorp, Maran and Barnevelder roos. Same breeds of hens plus a Silver Spangled Hamburg and black Cochins. These 2 hatched from brown eggs. What do u think?

Hatched from brown egg: mother was not a Silver Spangled Hamburg.
No feathers on the feet: mother was not a Cochin.
Blue color: at least one parent was blue.

I think any combination of the parent breeds that satisfies that list could have produced the chick.

When it gets a few months older, you might be able to tell more about who its parents were (if red or white leaks through the blue color, or if it is female so you can see what color eggs it lays, for example), but you will probably never know for sure.

The slow feathering is just a trait some chickens have. No single breed is guaranteed to have it or to be free of it.

Either that, or someone snuck in and added feathers to his legs for 1 pic, and then shaved them back off.
