Is this Barnevelder a splash?

This is Pablo. He and his brothers are the product of 2 blue laced Barnevelder parents.

I’m guessing that he’s splash. But in photos, splash colored birds appear white to me. Pablo is more light blue/silver. He’s only about a month old, so his coloration may still change. But has anyone had a splash Barnevelder (or Wyandotte- I assume they’d look similar) chick and is this what it looked like?

I personally think he is splash double laced. It's a fine line, though. He could be a very pale blue. The difference is genetic, so it can be difficult to tell with laced birds.

If you crossed him with regular black double laced females and all of the offspring were blue then you would know for sure that he is splash and not blue.

I also am not entirely sure what color he is. I almost think he's blue?? Again, complete guess on my end. I'm not seeing any flecks of darker color but that's not always indicative

How old is your splash baby in these photos?

I know color can be hard to distinguish in photos, but your bird looks white to me. Would you describe the color as more white, silver, or blue?

I can't remember so will have to check but I think the first photo was around 8 weeks. She was a blue/grey and then went a light silver. Photos are a bit over exposed making her look a bit more white

Your description of the color seems similar to mine, so I wonder if my guy’s light blue or silver will turn more white as he ages.
